Our Partners

Protecting the environment through sustainable waste management is a shared responsibility. Residents, communities, industries, regional authorities and the provincial government all have a part to play.

To achieve its mandate, MMSB works in partnership with various departments and agencies of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, primarily through an Interdepartmental Waste Management Steering Committee.

MMSB also collaborates with key stakeholders including Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador, the Newfoundland and Labrador Environmental Industry Association (NEIA), Memorial University and other environmental groups and organizations throughout the province.

Regional Waste Management Authorities

The Newfoundland and Labrador Waste Management Strategy of 2002 divided the province into zones governed by regional authorities. MMSB works closely with each of these Regional Waste Management Authorities in the implementation of sustainable waste management practices.
