- Gander Academy Recycling
At Gander Academy, Grade 3 teachers Laurie Bond and Gretchen Hansen are organizing the schoolwide recycling of paper, used beverage containers, and more. After its initial success, the program has expanded its sustainable practices to collecting food scraps for use in composting which they eventually plan to use to grow vegetables. Student recycling teams collect recycling across the school and encourage teachers to participate in various recycling contests, making the school greener than ever before!
