West Coast Compost

West Coast Compost is owned and operated out of Stephenville by the Brakes – students Chase, Max, Blaire, and their parents. They offer weekly compost pick-up services across Western Newfoundland in efforts to reduce food waste going to landfills. 

What started out as just another homeschool assignment quickly turned into a rapidly growing composting business for the Brakes – the family behind West Coast Compost. They collect organic food waste for compost from over 30 customers (and counting!) in Stephenville and surrounding areas, reducing the amount of food waste sent to our landfills and supporting food sustainability in our province.
