- Windy Heights Farm
Windy Heights Farm is a locally owned and operated farm based out of Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s serving the Avalon Peninsula. From fresh eggs and mushrooms to fertilizers and compost, the Farm champions supporting local efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and make Newfoundland and Labrador a clean and sustainable place for generations to come.
The pigs, cows, and chickens of Windy Heights Farm have a diverse (and delicious!) diet thanks to the farm’s partnership with the Loop program. In collaboration with grocery stores in Newfoundland and Labrador, Loop reduces food waste by providing it to farms as animal feed. From fruits and veggies to cakes and bagels, the hungry bellies at Windy Heights have diverted a tonne of food waste from our landfills in just a couple of months!
